LookPocket
The minimalistic companion app live grades your image directly in-camera via CDL, which is saved inside of the camera’s data non-destructively, and can be easily recalled by DITs and Colorists in post production.
The app is meant to be a companion to Cinematographer’s workflow. LookPocket gives you control over contrast, white balance, saturation, and much more, all without affecting your underlying exposure.
LookPocket allows Cinematographers and DITs to explore their looks on-set, directly from the comfort of their iPhone or iPad.

Even in the toughest of locations, LookPocket gives you the latitude needed to efficiently create standout commercial, day for night, and even black and white looks on the fly.
With its minimalist and compact nature, you can adjust and fine tune your look throughout the day, and no longer need to fear the sun, different lenses, or wrong black points messing up your image.
These adjustments are then saved directly in the camera’s original files, allowing your colorist to pull them up easily and use them as a reference to grade from.

During prep or on-set for multicam shoots, white balance, exposure, and contrast of multiple cameras and lenses can be corrected and matched via LookPocket’s CDLs. Although the camera retains the look even after a restart, these various matchings can also be exported as .cdl files, so you can import, reset, or edit them at any time.
For example, if you put on a zoom lens which is less contrasty compared to your primes, bumping the contrast up via LookPocket can get all your footage matching, and ensure your clients and directors are at ease.

Solve uncertainty on run-n-gun or documentary style shoots with constantly changing lighting conditions, where either time or gear, or both, is limited.
Adjust your image’s contrast, white balance, black point, or more on the fly.

With an exposure slider replicating EI, iris, or ND changes by precise stops, LookPocket lets you audition exposures by simulating what those changes would look like, before calling your camera team for ND or iris swaps while the camera is in hard to reach spots.
This is especially useful on steadicam or cranes, where adding or removing ND may delay the whole set. With LookPocket, you can be sure of how your exposure will look before you ask for these changes, therefore substantiating your commands and giving your team more confidence in you.

LookPocket communicates with your camera via TCP/IP, meaning your setup can be as simple as just connecting your phone to the camera’s internal WiFi, or as complex as hooking an iPad or Mac onto the DIT’s on set network. Either way, LookPocket can slide right into your current workflow without any costly additional hardware.
